Thornham Marina, one of Chichester’s best kept secrets, is a charming haven for boat owners. In the shelter of Prinsted Bay, it retains the traditional, friendly marina experience with modern facilities and services.
Popular with traditional yacht and motorboaters, Thornham Marina is the perfect getaway. Come and enjoy your boat in this peaceful, beautiful setting. With fabulous sailing inside the harbour and its creeks, it’s a only short sail to the Solent and beyond.
“Most importantly, having spent our first winter at Thornham, I wanted to comment that it has been super to keep our boat with you. You and Courtney have always been very friendly and responsive as have all of the guys around the yard. The other boat owners have also been extremely friendly – one chap even lent me some tools despite me meeting him for the first time which I thought was a lovely gesture. I have no doubt that we will be back (if you’ll have us!).”
“A huge thank you for all your support! Everybody has been extremely friendly & helpful & that makes such a difference at this uncertain time. We have also made many friends amongst your customers. You really have created a great atmosphere in your yard.”
My marina so what’s not to like, nice views good pontoons, nice friendly staff helpful. Nothing to complain about
Super staff here, nothing is too much trouble. Security gate access with a public footpath accessway for the lovely walk around the marina (great for dogs). They are dog friendly, patrons will find dog treats waiting and water readily available.
Good prices for boat storage with excellent service. On site businesses available include teak teak decking, rigging and made to measure covers.
On site showers with hairdryer and toilets. Very clean. Secure access for patrons only.
Patrons also have access to a heated summer house on the waterfront where hot and cold drink making facilities are provided alongside seating, a microwave and free reading material.
Friendly, professional & helpful. Having purchased a yacht that was based at Thornham, we had first hand of their service. The staff are very helpful & friendly & the facilities first rate. For such a small marina, the shower & toilet block are lovely! Thanks again for making our stay so pleasant.
We have been keeping our 26ft lift keel sailing boat at thornham for 7 years now on a drying berth. The marina staff are wonderful and we know that if the weather arrives our boat will be checked on and looked after. The facilities are great, the vibe laid back, non competitive, friendly and social. The views from our boat when moored rival most marinas in the solent area. The Annual Hog Roast in the summer and Mince Pie ‘bake off’ in December are popular events and get all the boat owners together. Thank you Jeanette and the Team for making Thornham our ‘home from home’
This is our first year at Thornham Marina. From the response to my initial enquiry to the final positioning of our 8.5m yacht into her cradle for the winter, the service we have received has been excellent. Everyone has been very friendly, helpful and efficient. There is a very positive attitude of mind that sets this business apart from the great majority. I strongly recommend them.
Great location, great services and, best of all, great team. We’ve been wintering here since 2008 and wouldn’t think of going anywhere else.
We are both very impressed with what must be the friendliest and most helpful marina we have been to. That as well as the surroundings, walks and easy access to good anchorages in the harbour area make it good choice for us. Lately we have discovered that we no longer have to sail for miles just to reach a good spot for the night or nights, we can stay onboard at the marina and awake to the cuckoos or go down to Pilsea Island or East Head. Brilliant! The cafe / bar is worth a visit or two as well.
We’re just starting out with this boating thing and after buying a boat on ebay I needed to find somewhere to sail from. I don’t really know what I’m doing (but am learning fast) so was really pleased to find somewhere on the south coast that is easy going, supportive and affordable. Everyone there really knows what they’re doing and is always happy to help when you need it. There’s no glitzy chandler but there are proper trades there who can actually fix stuff when you need them to at very sensible prices. There’s just as much if not more support for us as we learn what we’re doing at Thornham than we would get at a sailing club from people who are experts in what they do. On top of that there are lovely warm loos / showers, hot food, a bar and absolutely stunning scenery… I don’t really know why you’d keep your boat anywhere else!
