From the southern end of the Thorney Channel, you can venture north and east up the Harbour and explore the Itchenor creek. After you round the Chalkdock beacon and turn east into the Itchenor Reach, it is possible to anchor along the southern shore before you reach the swinging moorings.
It’s a fabulous spot to watch all the racing boats and cruisers coming and going.
Continuing up the Itchenor Reach, you’ll pass Itchenor Sailing Club and the fleets of traditional X Boats and Sunbeams that race regularly. There are visitor moorings off the Itchenor public hard and a visitor’s pontoon a little further to the east. Moor up here and visit The Ship Inn pub just up the high street for lunch or supper.
